Responsibilities: **Position Summary:** Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager, incumbents will independently perform a wide variety of technical procedures in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics section of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory medicine. Perform chromosome preparation, various banding methods and cell culture for all cell types. Handle potentially biohazardous specimens using aseptic technique and universal precautions. Perform chromosome and FISH analysis by microscopy for aberrations including proper use of computer-assisted imaging system. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting, review/oversee instrument function and utilization, quality control and quality assurance procedures, proficiency testing oversight and participation in lab accreditation process, and method development-modification-parallel testing .
