Responsibilities: The **Nocturnist Physician** provides Hospital Medicine services for the UCI Health - **Los Alamitos Hospital** inpatient medicine wards exclusively during overnight hours, with core responsibilities, including supervision of APP staff, centered on after-hours admissions from the ED, cross-coverage of admitted patients, managing acute changes in condition, and patient stabilization. Procedures are not required of the medicine nocturnist. The role requires timely handoff of all overnight events and pending clinical issues to the incoming day Hospitalist team.
