Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions - Conducts initial patient screening by documenting the chief complaint, ocular, family, and medical history, pain assessment, medication list, allergies, and visual acuity. - Performs subjective refractions, lensometry, tonometry, confrontational visual field testing, pupil and extraocular muscle assessments, and proper instillation of diagnostic drops. - Performs advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including dark adaptation, color vision testing, electroretinography (ERG), electrooculography (EOG), and visual field testing, as appropriate. - Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medical and ophthalmic supplies within examination and testing areas. - Ensures instruments, equipment, and examination/testing rooms are cleaned and maintained in accordance with infection prevention and control standards. - Demonstrates knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, including the appropriate identification, handling, and administration of diagnostic medications. **Qualifications** Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
