The Department of Urology is the leading academic urology program in the state of Florida. The University of Florida (UF) Department of Urology at UF Health Shands Hospital is a tertiary referral center that serves the population of north central Florida, southern Georgia and surrounding communities. The candidate would join the department, which has 20 full-time and part-time urologists who support general, endourology, urologic oncology, female, pediatric, male-infertility and reconstructive urologic surgery. UF is the 5th ranked public university in the nation. The UF College of Medicine is ranked in the top 50 of all U.S. medical schools for NIH research dollars awarded to medical schools and is ranked No. 23 among public institutions. UF Health Cancer Center is an NCI designated center offering a strong research infrastructure and environment. Seeking a candidate with broad clinical experience in urologic oncology with a particular interest in, but not limited to, one of the following potential areas: - Kidney cancer: The candidate should have an interest in treating local and advanced kidney cancer employing a multi-disciplinary approach along with both robotic and open techniques and strong clinical trials involvement.
