**What You Will Do** **This position will be filled at either the Paralegal 2/Paralegal 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.** Los Alamos National Laboratory's (LANL's) Office of General Counsel is seeking a paralegal to provide professional support to attorneys and staff in its General Law Group. The General Law Group works on a variety of legal issues including in the areas of environmental law, employment law, litigation, and export control. The primary responsibility for this position will be to support attorneys in all aspects of case and matter management. **Paralegal 2 ($80,400 - $127,900)** Responsibilities of the position include: Perform factual investigations; conduct legal research; draft basic legal documents including memoranda and motions; propound and respond to written discovery; prepare for depositions motion hearings and trial; review and analyze documents. Perform witness and custodian interviews, and collect, compile and analyze documents, electronic data and facts. Manage eDiscovery for complex cases (e.g., identifying, preserving, and culling data) and maintain electronic matter management systems and files. Utilize current technologies and software programs with proficiency, as well as ECF filing procedures in federal and state (NM) court. Act as an agent for supervising attorneys consistent with the rules governing professional responsibility for lawyers and paralegals. **Paralegal 3 ($96,600 - $158,000)** In addition to the duties outlined above, the Paralegal 3 will be required to: Be familiar with the rules, requirements and procedures set by federal or state boards, courts, and administrative bodies related to their particular area of practice.
