The Assistant Principal (AP) expertly provides and coordinates the educational program for children in the Rush Day School (RDS), a therapeutic day school for children in grades K through 8. Assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation are all components of the curriculum. Providing special education guidance for the program as well as to the staff encompasses an essential component of the position. The Assistant Principal leads and directs teachers in concert with the Director and in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Illinois State Board of Education and Common Core Standards.
