## **Job Summary** Data System Analyst (University of California, Davis; Rancho Cordova, CA): Provide data management expertise in planning, designing, developing, implementing & administering data-based systems that acquire, prepare, store, & provide access to data/metadata. Develop & manage custom reports using application-specific reporting tools. Understand database design related to report writing & data extracts. Gather & document business requirements from customers related to report design & technical solutions. Assess reporting tools, design reports, & choose the best delivery method. Provide training & support for staff in business areas related to report development & data files. Design, test, implement, & evaluate information systems for the organization to ensure successful implementation of the products. Design, develop, & implement system functionality to meet strategic needs of the organization, & complex cross-departmental needs. Assess workflow needs across departments. Utilize appropriate product development models, principles & techniques in system development & implementation. Analyze current documentation & data flows in departments & designs system to reflect appropriate workflow. Align information system standards & operations with administrative & operational strategies. Participate in application deployment go-live support & application on-call support rotation, including adhering to policy availability & response times. Assess new features for possible inclusion in app updates. Develop data/information documentation for projects. Plan & conduct data analysis for projects, including managing multi-institutional partnerships. Establish & uphold documentation standards, including data naming & value domain descriptions. Develop conceptual/detailed data models. Develop dimensional models for data subject areas.
