The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.* Position Summary The Department of Medicine at Columbia University seeks a highly motivated individual to join the laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Izar, MD as a Technician B. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in melanoma cancer. The selected candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator and research scientists to advance the aims of funded grants. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in oncology, immunotherapy, cancer genetics, and translational clinical research, with a particular focus on immunoresistant pathways in solid tumors. The laboratory’s research centers on understanding mechanisms of resistance to immune checkpoint blockade and developing novel therapeutic strategies to overcome these barriers. Our ultimate goal is to identify innovative treatment combinations that improve outcomes for patients with melanoma and other solid cancers. Responsibilities - Maintain detailed, up-to-date, and accurate record of specimens and reagents. - Perform routine laboratory tasks including molecular biology and flow cytometry - Work with laboratory animals - Assist laboratory members in the conduct of experiments as directed by the PI. - Perform a variety of analytical techniques including flow cytometry, cell culture, PCR, western blot and immunohistochemistry, under the supervision of the PI or research scientist. - Perform routine data processing and assist with data analysis. - Perform additional
