Responsibilities: **Position Summary:** The Psychologist II provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Burn Intensive Care Unit, the outpatient Burn and Wound Clinic and the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. The Psychologist incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Evaluates each burn and Rehabilitation patient for signs of acute stress disorder and assists with the psycho-social adjustment of the patient and the family by providing services to facilitate the burn patients improved coping with traumatic circumstances of the injury and/or mechanism of onset of new chronic impairments, immediate and long-term medical and psychosocial stressors, and post-discharge adjustment necessary throughout continued recovery and return to the demands of everyday life.
