**JOB NO:** 539705 **WORK TYPE:** Staff Full-Time **LOCATION:** Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) **CATEGORIES:** Facilities Operations/Skilled Trades, Veteran's Preference Eligible **DEPARTMENT:** 07700300 - HO-ELECTRICAL SHOP **CLASSIFICATION TITLE:** Electrician III **CLASSIFICATION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** High school diploma (or equivalent) and completion of three (3) years (or equivalent) of an Electrician apprenticeship program or three (3) years of experience in electrical related work: appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience **JOB DESCRIPTION:** **Maintain, repair, replace, and install electrical systems and their components determining conditions and malfunctions** - Install maintain, troubleshoot (basic), and repair electrical motors, generators, distribution systems, control systems, and related electrical and mechanical equipment involving voltages up to 480V AC or DC - Maintain, alter, and repair power appliances, light machinery, lighting fixtures, and electrical circuits in existing facilities; install fixtures and appliances in new construction - Maintain, alter, and repair existing wiring; install conduit for electrical systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC); assist in pulling cable for primary systems; and install new wiring - Install conduit and other wiring raceways - Recommend and complete preventive maintenance **Analyzes blueprints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems for the purpose of repairing or determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems.** **Responsible for general administrative functions** - Input and process work order requests utilizing web-based work order management system. - Record detailed descriptions of work performed and notate preventative maintenance information - Monitor building automation systems. - Assist with training, continuing education, and guidance for staff on position expectations, safe use of equi
