Provides leadership and direction for daily maintenance operations, including work order management, asset upkeep, preventive maintenance scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance. Duties include assigning and reviewing work, evaluating staff performance, coordinating after hours emergency response, and ensuring adherence to UF/IFAS policies and procedures. This role requires driving a state vehicle to remote sites as needed. Oversight of General Maintenance Contracts: Manages and monitors general facility service contracts for the region, including custodial services, grounds and landscape maintenance, pest control, waste services, and other routine operational contracts. Works closely with vendors and local staff to ensure contract compliance, service quality, and timely resolution of issues. Coordinates with central FPO leadership to align contract needs with departmental standards and expectations. Facility Planning and Small Projects: Supports facility planning by identifying deferred maintenance needs, providing input on scope development, and coordinating with Project Managers, contractors, and stakeholders, while overseeing small remodels and repairs to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with UF/IFAS requirements.
