Modern molecular biology techniques required, such as PCR, molecular cloning, gel electrophoresis, various sequencing approaches, ELISA, etc. In addition, this position will assist with other duties required for smooth running of the lab, including ordering supplies, training new personnel in basic bench techniques, and administering laboratory safety programs. *Outstanding U of A benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; U of A/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; retirement plans; access to U of A recreation and cultural activities; and more!* The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs. **Duties & Responsibilities** - Work independently on defined experiments (e.g., setup, scheduling, and data acquisition) and report on the findings to the PI. - Process human, animal, and environmental samples (e.g., blood, saliva, wastewater) for scientific studies. - Prioritize own workload, while managing multiple priorities to meet defined deadlines. - Write and assist the PI with manuscripts, specifically related to methods, results, and figure generation. - Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations. - Participate in laboratory meetings and/or other seminars and meetings. - Ensure laboratory is clean and tidy. - Place orders for materials and supplies, negotiate with vendors, and perform cost analyses of research projects. - Work with the EEB bus
