The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.* Position Summary Reporting to the Director, Data Analytics, the Junior Risk Analyst will provide data, statistical, and pattern analysis, as well as trend correlation in support of the Department of Public Safety operational, investigative, and administrative functions. Responsibilities - Assists with collecting and organizing data from various internal sources to support the identification of basic patterns or trends. Prepares initial summaries for review by senior analysts - Supports data analysis efforts by running predefined queries, maintaining datasets, and helping compile information related to offenses, calls for service, demographics, and other key metrics. Contributes to quarterly, annual, and ad hoc report preparation under supervision - Creates charts, graphics, maps, spreadsheets with coordinated or determined time, place, or sequence of criminal operations or activities based on analysis of data or information. Creates link charts, photo line-ups, and crime bulletins - Monitors social media content to analyze any activity that may impact the University - Assists with basic data analysis and open source research to help identify preliminary patterns, trends, or issues that support the department's investigative activities. Works under guidance from senior analysts to ensure accuracy and relevance - Supports monitoring of social media trends and gathers information that may relate to on campus
