The candidate will work collaboratively with graduate student and undergraduate researchers to cultivate and phenotype transgenic Arabidopsis plants. In addition, the candidate will contribute to the development of transgenic Arabidopsis through Agrobacterium mediated transformation. **This is a temporary position.** *Outstanding U of A benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance and disability programs; access to U of A recreation and cultural activities; and more!* The University of Arizona has been recognized for our innovative work-life programs. **Duties & Responsibilities** **Planning, initiating, coordinating, and managing laboratory experiments:** - Prepare experimental samples from cultivated transgenic plants. - Participate in scientific data collections, reductions and analyses involving routine procedures characterized by moderate use of independent judgement. - Cultivate transgenic and non-transgenic plants. - Collect and record phenotypic data (pollen tube growth, fertilization, seed set) and genotypic data (genotype wild-type and transgenic plants), analyze, and interpret - Operate lab equipment (centrifuges, pH meters, thermolcylcers, microscopes). - Maintain research facilities and equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols. **Revise protocols and procedures for pollen tube phenotyping.** - Primary responsibility for refining protocols for pollen tube germination and growth in vivo. - Communicate revised protocols to graduate and undergraduate researchers. **Publish research results in peer-review
