**What You Will Do** **The Engineering Services Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory develops, maintains, and applies a diverse set of engineering capabilities to provide innovative engineering solutions that enable the Laboratory's scientific and national security mission. This position is within the Engineering Services Division Office (ES-DO). ES Groups are responsible for implementing the Conduct of Engineering (COE) program at Los Alamos National Laboratory in support of systems, structure and component modifications and new installations. This position supports facilities across 38 square miles of the Laboratory and promotes a workplace culture centered on mutual respect and inclusivity, ensuring freedom from discrimination and harassment for all.** **Note: This position will be filled at either the Designer/Drafter 1 or 2 level depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.** **Key Responsibilities** **For both levels****:** - Advanced CAD Modeling and Drafting: Create and revise 2D / 3D models, drawings, and layouts for structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and facility systems using high-level parametric CAD tools. - Cross-Functional Design Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on design concepts, hardware layouts, and field assessments - Interdisciplinary Design Review Participation: Participate in design reviews and help resolve design compatibility or interface issues across disciplines - Regulatory and Code Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, IEEE). - Commitments to Safety and Security: Maintain safety and security as a core part of every task.
