The Applied Materials Division (AMD) at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking an Administrative Assistant candidate. The Administrative Assistant, under supervision and with a degree of initiative, will provide administrative support while performing a wide range of administrative activities and tasks. This individual will ensure the administrative activities and tasks are performed in a timely manner and are often of a confidential or sensitive nature. The successful candidate will handle complex assignments using independent judgment facilitating effective and efficient flow and processing of information and work associated with daily operations as assigned. Duties may include the following: - Preparation of reports, slide decks, regular business communications (letters, memos, etc.) - Process proposal reviews, foreign national access requests, rigging requests, shipping orders, property passes and gate passes - Calendar management, arranging conferences and onsite visits - Preparing foreign and domestic travel arrangements and processing expense reports - Serve as Division Property Representative - Other duties as assigned This Administrative Assistant will provide support, along with the divisional administrative support team, reporting to AMD Deputy Director of Operations, and will also work with the Directorate Office administrative support team. **Position Requirements** - Knowledge of administrative support and office practices. - Demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communication. - Ability to interact diplomatically and tactfully with people at all levels both within and outside the laboratory. - Ability to be flexible with the potential to work with many groups in the division and directorate. - Ability to think quickly when managing difficult situations. - Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while being detail o
