**Description** The Clinical Pharmacy Manager provides direct and or functional supervision and maintains overall responsibility for pharmacy operations in medicine to enhance the reputation and service-orientation of the Department. The The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will work collaboratively with the members of the research team including physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, study coordinators, investigators, sponsors and other staff. Other responsibilities include performing cross-functional duties including those of a pharmacist, clinical specialist or other clinical coordinator, as required. **Responsibilities** 1. Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks: - Conducts and participates in departmental activities to meet the goals, objectives and policies of the department, hospital/medical center, by the standards set forth by Federal and State Regulatory agencies and The Joint Commission - Develops and implements policies and procedures to meet professional standards and improve medications safety, including those established by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) - Implements decisions of and provides support for the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee by preparing drug evaluations and assisting in formulary maintenance - Provides drug information and investigational protocol education to pharmacy staff, students, and other health care professionals - Plans, organizes and implements specific site policies regarding Investigational Drug Services - Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information - Coordinates the provision of pharmaceutical care by pharmacy department members - Ensures the work environment is well maintained - Demonstrates initiative and leadership 2.
