Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Protection Division (LP) is to serve and protect the Laboratory population by providing response services and technical expertise allowing world class science to occur in a safe and secure environment for the Laboratories population. The Laboratory Protection Division is seeking an individual to support the Badging Office as an Administrative Assistant. This role verifies and issues ID credentials to employees, contractors, guest/visitors, and other eligible recipients. This position will process UPIV (Uncleared Personal Identity Verification) credentials, enroll, activate, and update HSPD-12 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12) credentials. Process clearances, review, and verify documents for data input, enter data in databases (USACCESS, E-APP, CCURE), and coordinate with the GUV Center, and other departments to authenticate and validate requests for access credentials. This position is for a skilled and motivated individual that will perform all functions required to issue access credentials and provide exceptional customer service. **Essential Duties And Responsibilities** Provide support for Badge Operations in administrative functions, which includes but not limited to: - Verify authorization to access the site by consulting the Visitor’s database, PeopleSoft, Workday, and the Lab’s internal security system (TBIS). - Process UPIV (Uncleared Personal Identity Verification) credentials, enroll, activate, and update HSPD-12 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12) credentials. - Process clearances, review, and verify documents for data input, enter data in databases (USACCESS, E-APP, CCURE), and coordinate with the GUV Center, and other departments to authenticate and validate requests for access credentials. - Review source documents and verify authorization for access to all on-site events or activities. - Issue temporary photo identification passes. - Check Visas, Passports, and all required Immigration Documents
