**What You Will Do** The Biochemistry and Biotechnology Group (B-TEK) in the Bioscience Division is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic post-master's candidate interested in performing research within the facets of mass spectrometry - especially proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics. The successful candidate will work with a team of scientists, technicians, and students on multiple projects ranging from characterizing chemical exposure, understanding biological effects of chemical/non-chemical stressors, and developing biosample analysis including method development, data acquisition, and data processing. The candidate will be expected to contribute to different projects as need arises. The ideal candidate must be meticulous in their work, self-starting, independent, and able to communicate in a professional manner. The term of the appointment is 2 years with opportunities to extend the appointment by transitioning to other types of LANL positions or continuing education. The individual will also act as a member of the Biochemistry and Biotechnology Group (B-TEK) and as a member of the mass spectrometry team. Responsibilities include conducting research and reporting results back to the team at weekly meetings. Furthermore, on the job training and opportunities will arise to craft peer-reviewed publications and grant proposals. In addition, the individual is encouraged to attend seminars and other LANL functions to expand their knowledge base and broaden interests and will also have the opportunity to participate in networking and social events.
